Post-Circumcision Concerns

Hello, I am a 28 year old male who struggled with phimosis for many years and eventually had to be circumcised to solve he problem. I was circumcised a month and a half ago, I think it was okay generally but I have some concerns and would really like some reassurance.

The surgeon said he could leave some of the foreskin (do a 'limited circumcision') if I wanted and he said it shouldn't be a problem. It seemed like a good idea to me but now I am regretting it.

A month and a half after the surgery, it seems healed, less sensitive overall, but there is a "pink ring" of skin behind the glans that it still quite swollen, particularly underneath. The underneath is still sensitive and I have to wear something over it in my underwear for comfort.

I showed it to my GP recently and he was concerned about how dry the skin was and said to use vitamin E cream, so I've been doing that.

So apart from the swelling it's not too much of an issue and seems to slowly be getting better. However another problem emerges on occasion when I masturbate (particularly on occasion when I masturbate in the evening and the morning consecutively). It just ends up a bit red and inflamed underneath and a bit on the glans, and it concerns me. I abstain as much as possible but can't help it sometimes. Several times it has also been a bit inflamed from having wet dreams, which I really can't help!

The other concern is - sometimes it makes my testicles very itchy - i think from the healing foreskin underneath irritating the testicles? Is this normal/possible/common?

I'd like to know - how long will this swelling last, is it normal for my testicles to be itchy as a result of my swollen healing foreskin underneath, and what can I do to help all of this? Should I get it looked at by a specialist? - hopefully I don't need to go back and have it all removed, I'd just rather avoid more surgery and more recovery. So, is all of this normal??
